The 2008 growing season gave us a tiny crop that, combined with
our severe selection, produced only 50% of our normal production.
The Blue Rock Cabernet is a blend of some of the oldest blocks from
the Estate and it is aged in 50% new and 50% once used French
It is 92% Cabernet Sauvignon with smaller amounts of Cabernet
Franc, Malbec, and Merlot for added texture and complexity. It is a
richer and more overtly fruity Cabernet than the more reserved 2007
and is beautifully approachable now. We strive for a balanced and
elegant wine that is food friendly rather than more heavily
